Sika Latex

Overview of Sika Latex:

Sika Latex is an improved emulsion to be mixed with cement or mortar (cement-sand mixture) to increase elasticity, adhesion and waterproofing. Sika Latex is suitable for surfaces that are frequently exposed to water.

Advantages of Sika Latex:

 Excellent adhesion, good elasticity, good pressure resistance.

 Save, limit shrinkage when using.

 Due to its benign, non-toxic properties, it is suitable for gypsum components in contact with drinking water.

Application:

 Can be used to plaster floors or join old and new concrete.

 Sika Latex acts as an adhesive layer, linking plaster layers, increasing elasticity and helping to minimize the formation of cracks.

 For sanding and repairing cracks.

Quota:

 0.25 liters per 1 m² for a 2 mm thick connection layer. Mixing ratio of adhesive oil for 4m2 of surface is: 1 liter of Sika latex + 1 liter of water + 4 kg of cement.

Implementation process:

Step 1: Put cement into the pre-mixed latex-water mixture. Next, mix until a creamy consistency is achieved (mixing ratio: 1 liter latex + 1 liter water + 4 kg cement = glue).

Apply a 1-2 mm layer of Latex Connector to the pre-wetted surface and pour new concrete or plaster while the joint is still wet.

Step 2: Plaster the floor:

Notes when using Sika Latex:

 Never use cement-free Sika latex mixed with water as a binder.

 If the weather is wet or windy, normal curing measures should be followed to prevent premature drying of the grout.

 Always saturate the surface of the absorbent, but do not allow water to stagnate.

 If used on structures that are always wet (water tanks, swimming pools, etc.), latex grout must be allowed to dry for 1 week before putting the building into service, or the structure is permanently submerged in water. .

 Sika Latex in particular may cause allergic reactions and appropriate precautions should be taken to minimize skin contact. If product gets into eyes or mucous membranes, rinse with water and seek medical attention immediately.

Sikatop Seal 107

Overview of Sikatop Seal 107:

Sikatop Seal 107 is a two-component modified polymer cement mortar for waterproofing and elastomeric protection of the interior and exterior of the house against water.

Implementation process:

Step 1: Moisten the waterproof surface:

The first thing you need to do is clean the waterproofing surface to remove all dirt, impurities and limescale that may be around. Then add water to the surface to absorb water in the most saturated state, remember not to add too much water, too much water will cause the surface to be stagnant and not workable.

Step 2: Construction:

 Slowly add components A and B in a 1:4 ratio. Then beat with an electric mixer on low speed for 3-5 minutes.

 The first layer uses a brush or a trowel to sweep evenly on the waterproof concrete surface, with a rate of 2kg/m2/layer.

 The second and third layers perform the same scanning as the first layer. The scan interval for each layer is then 3-4 hours.

 Finish by flying and beautifying with a sponge.

Precautions during construction:

Sikatop Seal 107 is cement based, so it is alkaline. During use, care should be taken to minimize skin contact. If Sikatop Seal 107 gets into eyes, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention.

The construction density of the lining is about 0.2 – 0.3 kg/m². For porous and highly permeable substrates, the surface must be pre-wetted. Avoid standing water.

Step 3: Application: Apply Sikaproof Membrane to the clean primed surface with a brush or spray bottle. Allow the primer to dry completely (approximately 2-3 hours at 30°C) and then apply the first coat with a thick, pure Sikaproof film with a consumption density of approximately 0.85 kg/m².

Wait for layers to dry before applying subsequent coats. For waterproofing, apply 2-3 coats.

Precautions during construction

 Since Sikaproof film does not provide long-term UV protection, exposed surfaces such as flat roofs must be protected (e.g. reflective paint or protective plaster).

 Do not use the product as a surface to drive directly on.

 Do not dilute with solvents.

 After opening the product should be used up.
